The Grapes, Hops, and Bites Festival is one of Richmond’s most beloved fundraising “must attend” events. 100% of the proceeds go directly back into the community and programs managed by the Steveston Rotary. It is the “original” Steveston Wine Festival.
The Steveston Rotary’s mission is to provide business, professional, and community leaders an opportunity to provide service to our unique community, and to promote international understanding, goodwill, and peace through world fellowship.
The primary objective of the Grapes, Hops & Bites event is to raise enough money to support the Steveston Rotary’s community and outreach programs.
These programs include:
Write to Read Project – increasing the level of literacy in First Nations communities.
Rotary International’s Polio Plus –
Rotary members have persevered in this fight since 1979 and have now helped eradicate polio in all but three countries worldwide.
Seniors Christmas Luncheon –
The purpose of the Christmas Luncheon is to provide our local seniors a little holiday cheer on behalf of the Steveston Rotary.
Christmas Hampers – Every year the Steveston Rotary provides between 40 and 50 Richmond families food hampers. This initiative is organized with the assistance of the local school district.
Steveston Interact Club – Supporting local high school students with, bursaries, leadership training, and community service projects.
The Dental Mission Project – TDMP, a non-profit society, has been formed to support regions in desperate need of oral health care and education — around the world and in our own back yard. The Dental Mission Project Society is committed to assist dental groups interested in providing assistance to marginalized populations regardless of their religious or political beliefs, economic or social circumstance.
